Coaching tools and training that make your people-managers great coaches

Nothing shapes how quickly someone grows more than the manager they grow under. Research across millions of workers found that the manager accounts for 70% of the difference in how engaged a team is. This part of the platform is about giving your managers the support they need: to coach, to run brilliant sessions, and to bring the learning to life with their teams.

Video learning

Most managers were promoted because they were brilliant consultants first. Most will not have yet been taught how to develop others. Video learning closes that gap. We've created a series of short modules on coaching well, giving great feedback, guiding development, and getting the most from the platform with their team. Each is a few minutes long and built to be used straight away, so your managers grow into the coaches their teams deserve.

Manager Toolkits

Managers rarely get a quiet hour to prepare. Every video module comes with a Manager Toolkit: the key models, questions to ask, and prompts to use, in one downloadable PDF. It means a manager is never walking into a coaching session cold, and never wondering what to do afterwards. The learning from the video stays to hand, exactly when it's needed most.

Defining what great looks like

Coaching risks being too subjective if there is no clear agreement about what great looks like. From Define, your managers have the Career Development Map in hand: a clear definition of great across all Nine Dimensions™, at every level of a career. It means feedback stops being a matter of opinion. Whether they're observing a client meeting or sitting in a performance review, a manager can point to exactly where someone is strong, exactly where the next step lies, and have a conversation their team member can act on.

Team games

The most effective managers keep development alive. Team games make that easy. Each one comes with a Manager Toolkit explaining exactly how to run the session, so a manager can drop a game into the monthly team meeting, or any moment that needs lifting. They're highly engaging, keep development front and centre all year round, and will immediately improve how teams deliver great results.

Assessments that guide the coaching

Development is hard to guide when you're working on instinct. Managers can ask their team to run the Assessments built into the Showing Up platform, as often as makes sense for each individual's development plan. The results give a manager an honest picture of where each person stands, and where the team as a whole is strong or stretched. From there, the coaching conversation almost writes itself: they can pinpoint the growth together, and agree what to work on next.
